PROMISES PROMISES 6th of September

I really like the idea of this guest blogger thing, because it means I don’t have to think of stuff to write and people to take the piss out of. Last night I slept like a baby (cried myself to sleep then wet the bed) knowing that I wouldn’t have to get in early and tap away at my Commodore 64 keyboard.

An anonymous midget promised me a witty and insightful blog full of various put-downs and piss takes, sprinkled with some racist remarks levelled at me, Dean and Pavel. I was really looking forward to it!
So it turns out that not does this dwarf have no fashion sense; we can only assume he’s also illiterate.

Ok, that’s my little rant over. Thursday saw the launch of Boho Glamour, a night for the Gay and Glamorous. It was the first of what will be a monthly event held on the first Thursday of every month.

It was actually a really good night, with a more mixed crowd than I was expecting. Of the (around) 300 people we had in, about half were straight women. Now ALL the male bar staff are volunteering to work the next one (October 7th), with Sean originally saying he’ll do it for free. I mentioned that the girls looked great, to which he replied “They were actual women? Oh... Well, i’m actually washing my hair and doing my nails on the 7th, so I can’t work now”. I’ll have more on the next Boho Glamour night next week.

Friday saw the usual after work crowd, with quite a few Saturday night folks starting their weekend a night early. I guess Ultimate Big Brother isn’t living up to expectations. My highlight was witnessing the shine from Hollywood Hodgson’s diamond encrusted cufflinks. He was two nights too late for that sort of flashiness....

Saturday was at capacity again, which is great. Absolutely no bother, apart from one woman thinking I was from the Highlands, then berating me for “...pretending to be from Australia”. Apparently I don’t do accents very well. I’m off to watch:
